Devotional #6: Friends in the Family
"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity."
Proverbs 17:17
Do you have a best friend? Someone who is there for you, no matter what? Proverbs 17:17 says, "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity." That means real friends, and family, stick with us through thick and thin.
But have you ever thought of your family as your friends? It might seem strange at first, but your family is like your built-in friend team. They're there to celebrate your wins, comfort you when you're sad, and stand by you when things get tough.
Being friends with our family means we need to love at all times. It means we listen, share, help, and forgive. It means we stand up for each other and stick together, even when things get tough.
This week, let's try to be better friends within our family. Let's listen more, share more, help more, and forgive more. Because when we're friends in our family, we make our family strong.
Family Discussion Question:
What is one way you can be a better friend to your family members this week? How do you think this will help make your family stronger?
