Devotional #3: The Superpower of Love
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Did you know you have a superpower? It's true! This superpower is more powerful than flying, more incredible than invisibility, and it's called Love!
The Bible tells us exactly what this superpower is like in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
Wow! That's a superpower indeed. Love is like a superhero cape we put on every day. When we choose to love, we are choosing to be patient, kind, trusting, and hopeful. We are choosing to protect and persevere, just like superheroes do.
But remember, love isn't just for special occasions. Love is for every moment, right here and right now. It's how we can show God's goodness to our family, friends, and even to people we don't know very well.
This week, let's use our superpower of love to make our family stronger. When we choose to love, we're choosing to be a family that shines brightly in the world.
