Devotional #2: The Great Eraser

"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3:13

Imagine having a giant, magical eraser. This eraser could wipe away any mistakes, any messes, any accidents - just like that! What if I told you, we all have access to such an eraser? It's called forgiveness!

The Bible, in Colossians 3:13, tells us, "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." This means that when someone does something wrong to us, we should forgive them, just like God forgives us when we make mistakes.

When we forgive, we're not just saying "It's okay." We're showing what God's love is like. We're showing that we're part of God's big family, and in God's family, we clean up messes together without staying upset.

Forgiveness is like bringing a little piece of heaven to earth. It's a way we can show others what God's love looks like, right here and right now.

This week, let's use our "great eraser" of forgiveness. When we choose to forgive, we're choosing to be a family that shines God's love to each other and to the world. So, let's be a strong family, wiping away mistakes with our great eraser of forgiveness!

Family Discussion Question:

Can you think of a time when it was hard to forgive? How can our family support each other in using our "great eraser" of forgiveness more often?
