Devotional #11: Our Safe Place
"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you."
2 Thessalonians 3:16
Have you ever been in the middle of a busy, noisy place and then walked into a quiet, calm room? It feels so peaceful, doesn't it? The Bible talks about this kind of peace in 2 Thessalonians 3:16: "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you."
The Bible is saying that God can give us peace—real, deep-down peace—no matter what is happening around us. Even when things are busy and noisy, we can have peace in our hearts. And guess where this peace can start? Right at home, with our family.
Imagine our home as that quiet, calm room. Even when things outside are confusing or tough, we can make our home a place of peace. We can choose to be patient with each other, to listen, to forgive, and to love. In doing so, we invite God's peace into our family.
This week, let's aim to create more peace in our home. Remember, every act of love brings more of God's peace into our family.
Family Discussion Question:
What is one thing we could do this week to make our home feel more peaceful? How do you think this will help our family to feel more of God's peace?
