Devotional #10: Following Goodness and Love
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23:6
Think about walking through a forest with a faithful guide leading you, and knowing that you're safe and secure. Psalm 23:6 is a little bit like that: "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Imagine "goodness" and "mercy" as our guides, following us wherever we go, keeping us safe, and leading us towards love and kindness. It's a beautiful image, isn't it?
In our families, we can choose to follow goodness and love too. We can choose to be kind to each other, to forgive when mistakes are made, and to show love in our words and actions. When we do this, our family becomes like a "house of the Lord"—a place filled with God's love and peace.
This week, let's choose to follow goodness and love in our family. Let's create a home that is full of kindness, forgiveness, and love—just like the house of the Lord. Because when we do, we make our family strong.
